Fully Committed is the restaging of a show that originally ran at the Herberger in 2002 and was directed by David Ira Goldstein and is restaged by Glenn Bruner. It returns to the valley by popular demand. If you missed it then, don't miss it now! Bob Sorenson, got a standing ovation for his one man portrayal of over 20 characters, and Sam the restaurant reservationist who juggles phone calls of demanding customers all wanting a coveted table at this high demand restaurant in NYC. Sam is a reservationist on the side. His first love is acting, and that career is strugling. He is also caught between his drug-addicted, egomanical chef who won't decide if they will be open on Christmas, and his recently widowed father who wants him to come home to South Bend for Christmas. Over twenty hilarious characters call and Bob plays them all. Characters like Dr. Ruth, Naomi Campbell, who complains about the lighting and a mafia VIP who is bribing Sam for a table. Fully Committed is hilarious Collapse

I really didn't enjoy this show. The only reason I will say I didn't hate it was because of the actress playing Marge. She was the only one with any sort of comedic timing and had a great animation to her faces. She was very professional had a fantastic voice. (except when her costars ruined her solos) I realize this is a musical review, but there was still room for acting. The cast (other than Marge)had a very unprofessional sound and etiquette (the show started almost 15 min. late). Also, we were crammed into the tinyest space imaginable. I'm glad I wasn't there with my boyfriend, as it was not exactly an ideal date. As for the other characters: Cindy-they needed to give her a mic. Even with me sitting right in front of her, I had no clue what she was saying or singing. She didn't seem to know what she was doing. DeeDee-umm..wow. There are no words. Just awful! The random guy with a 20 "characters"-he would be okay, if this was high school theatre Collapse

Friday, 12/1/2006. One word: “Somber.” In other words: “This ain’t no Boston Pops Christmas.” No Leroy Anderson tunes. No Sleigh Ride. No sing-alongs. No Santa! While I wouldn’t agree completely with Presto the Cat’s characterization as “dull,” both the orchestra and Phoenix Symphony Chorus could have exhibited more “shine” and energy. From the balcony, the Phoenix Girls Chorus and the solo violin were virtually inaudible. The Hallelujah Chorus was dangerously out of synch. In a Pops concert taken so seriously, these flaws were inexcusable. On the other hand, I was extremely impressed with the Maestro’s innovative concept of a holiday concert. We were exposed to excerpts from some classical masterpieces by Beethoven and Poulenc. Traditional carols were presented in rare arrangements that kept our attention. The Thompson Alleluia was magical in its pacing and buildup. Too bad the audience broke out into applause prematurely. It would have been interesting to hear the entire program without pause as you suggested in your introduction. A true Christie Christmas Mass/Fantasia. Collapse
