Nearly Naked Theatre

Nearly Naked Theatre is a not-for-profit group of local artists: actors, writers, directors, designers and technicians, seeking a new voice in valley theater, free of censorship and artistic stifling, who want to produce thought-provoking and entertaining theater.

Why is the theater "nearly naked?" The name does not refer to the participants' state-of-dress. Nearly Naked is theater that has been stripped down to its essentials. Free of conformity and political pressure, Nearly Naked presents theater that is honest by its simplicity. Lavish sets and costumes may be used, but are not required. When something is naked, it is exposed and presented without pretense, and that is the nature of this theater. The actors themselves are not naked…unless that is the nature of the show. They would be naked if performing Hair or Oh! Calcutta, but definitely not for South Pacific or Annie (Nearly Naked Theatre has no intention of producing any of these plays in the near future, please do not buy season tickets based on those titles).
