How would you like to spend a few hours a week in a beautiful corner of Phoenix, surrounded by nature, Native American rock art, and an energetic group of individuals? What if you could enjoy all this and serve your community at the same time? If this sounds intriguing, come to our Volunteer Open House and learn about the variety of exciting volunteer opportunities! Volunteers are integral to the Deer Valley Rock Art Center's mission of rock art education, preservation and research. Volunteers participate in all facets of the Center's operations, from working directly with visitors on tours and for special programs, to assisting with 'behind the scenes' projects in collections, research, public relations, membership, and other areas.
There are numerous benefits to being a volunteer at the Deer Valley Rock Art Center. Volunteers receive training from Arizona State University (ASU archaeologists) on rock art, desert ecology, and Southwest archaeology. They also enjoy complimentary museum memberships, gift shop discounts, a quarterly newsletter, museum guest passes, free guest lectures, and free field trips to rock art and other archaeological sites. Volunteering at the Deer Valley Rock Art Center is a great way to meet new people, share your talents, and engage your community in the preservation of our past.
