O'Keeffe's abstract renditions of the Southwest landscape are modern-day icons-as well as some of the most reproduced paintings around. She was a pioneer of American modernism and a larger-than-life character. First known to many through Alfred Stieglitz's exquisite photographs of her, O'Keeffe has become a beacon of independence for women artists. Hear more about her art and life with Kate O'Mara, professor of art history at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
