In this wonderful 75 minute production of "Mazurka: My Friend, Chopin," the Clark-Schuldmann Duo fully met our expectations. But I muse as to whether the longer two act version might not have garnered 4.5 or even 5 stars, as was the case with "Sister Mozart" and "Beethoven's Nephew" respectively. I could well envision a longer presentation of "Mazurka" allocating more time to Chopin's tempestuous relationship (and allegedly most productive years) with George Sand. And perhaps the additional time would have allowed the audience to enjoy some of Chopin's greatest and most well appreciated works, such as Nocturne in Eb, Etude in E, Fantaisie-Impromptu in C#, and of course the Polonaises in A and Ab (yes, yes, of course I googled up this information), possibly occurring at the end of each act so as to permit we musical neophytes to float out in a state of complete bliss. To captivate an entire audience for well over an hour of beautiful and majestic piano music was truly amazing to be a part of. Xiayin Wang not only is a gifted, talented, gorgeous woman, but humble as well. Please bring her back to the valley as soon as possible. My 13 year old daughter and myself have several family and friends that we want to invite to a "perfect evening". Collapse

Event Name: Christopher Taylor: Beethoven's Sonata Marathon
"Keyboard excitations"

Christopher Taylor is a master of the keyboard. An experience that took my breath away. The venue heightens the performance. Beethoven's sonatas as he must have meant them to be.
