Featuring the work of eight prominent young American Indian jewelers, this exhibit illustrates how jewelry expresses both individuality and shared experiences that emphasize the artists' community and family. Artists include: Liz Wallace, Jared Chavez, Keri Ataumbi, Cody Sanderson, David and Wayne Nez Gaussoin, and Maria Samora. Works from these top young Native jewelers will be on display in the Lovena Ohl Gallery. Cutting-edge yet unmistakably Native, these pieces showcase the innovative talents of their accomplished makers. To celebrate the opening of this newest exhibition, the Heard Museum will feature a mini-market of several jewelers as well as book signings. Jewelers will show and sell their work, and authors/curators Diana Pardue and Tricia Loscher will be on-hand to sign their new books, Contemporary Southwestern Jewelry and Old Traditions in New Pots: Silver Seed Pots from the Norman L. Sandfield Collection.
