Moulthrop Generations: Turned Wood Bowls by Ed, Philip and Matt Moulthrop
October 20, 2007-February 24, 2008
Ed, Philip and Matt Moulthrop represent three generations of artists who have made significant contributions to 20th century and contemporary woodturning. The Moulthrops are known for their concentration on the inherent beauty of local woods, elegant vessel forms, and innovations in surface treatment and turning technique. Ed Moulthrop, one of the grandfathers of contemporary wood turning, quietly and consistently produced a body of work that meditated on the most perfect form possible with the lathe and the variety of wood found in his home state of Georgia. These preoccupations are the basis of Philip's and now Matt's work, with individual variations. Drawn from local collections, the exhibition presents works from the late 1970s until today. Moulthrop Generations allows the study and enjoyment of the breadth of their work, and examines their important place within the field of woodturning and contemporary craft.

I just rented this movie. To be honest, I rented it because of Peter Falk and Laura San Giacomo. It wasn't until later that I saw that it won best picture at the 2005 Phoenix Film Festival. Thank you for allowing movies like this to be exposed to the public. What a delightful movie!!!! I have never been to your film festival, but if this movie represents the quality of your festival, WOW!!! It is to late for me to attend this year, but I'll be there next year. Again, thank you.
