A must see!! Loved it! I liked the 2nd half a bit more. I think John played a perfect Atticus! Jessica as Mayella needs to deliver the part where she says "I'm gona say this...and I ain't gonna say it no more" with much more convictions. In the movie, it made my skin crawl...it needs to be delivered just a little louder and with more heart. 6 of us went last night and we all loved it. Christopher as Dill was PERFECT!!! Daria as Scout won our hearts and big brother Lorin as Jem did so too. These young people got a standing ovation...and deserved it. If you have never seen To Kill a Mockingbird...rent the CD and then go see the play. You have just a few days left to go see it...don't miss out! Collapse

Wendy is exactly how I would picture Scout grown up to be. She not only narrates, but reacts to the scenes playing out as very vivid memories. Daria also does a great job as 9-yr old Scout, tomboyishly winning. Christopher is perfect as the bookishly brave Dill, and Lorin, was simply dignified. Scott was perfectly awful (in a good way) and hilarious, as the trashy Bob Ewell, father and worse to Mayella Ewell, also perfectly played with pathos and stubborn, ignorant denial by Jessica. Everyone in the cast was good, the only off-key note -this might be just me- was John as Atticus Finch. Blame Gregory Peck bias, but with his choppy, full-volume delivery he sounded more con man than a man of quiet convictions, more Preston-ish Music Man than earnest lawyer. But, honestly, who could follow Mr. Peck? Or maybe you will disagree. The set was fantastic, fluid; direction was smooth, too. Go see it! Collapse

I saw the show in Tucson the second night it was playing. As a Gershwin fan with a special feeling for Rhapsody in Blue I expected to enjoy it. However I was surprised to find myself saying "it is the best two hours entertainment I have seen in many years." Felder "was" Gershwin. His patter and his renditions of old Gershin tunes was outstanding and only exceeded by the most exciting piano rendition of the Rhapsody that I have ever experienced. I expect to be taking a Phoenix grandson (HS senior) who is a pianist and has an interest in composition to see a Phoenix performance. I'm looking forward to seeing it for a second time. Collapse

I went to this play on Sunday night Hank Williams was my idol when I was a teenager and sitting in the balcony was just like I was at his concert. I loved every minute of it as I felt happy and sad just watching every move. The music was terrific and I felt like I should stand up and yell and clap until he came back out again. He will never die in the hearts of us staunch fans. Thank you Arizona Theatre Company. This was my first time there and was really impressed on the theater. Keep up the good work. Collapse

We saw this performance last night and it was another great theatre experience by Arizona Theatre Company. Every aspect was coordinated into a production comparable to or better than anything on Broadway or any major theatre city. The singing alone was worth the ticket but we got fine acting thrown in as well. Collapse

From the balcony of the Herberger theather I felt like I had a seat at one of his concerts. Emotions up, down, happy, and sad were felt during the show. The actors made you feel like you had stepped back in time. Durning some of the songs I just wanted to stand up and cheer. The sets were right on target. When I left, I felt I would have the songs in my head for days. You feel as if you really watched his life go by. To say the actors were right on target could be a perfect reiew. I plan to go back and see it agian. The audience went wild at the end with praise for all. Good job Arizona Theatre Company, this is a real hit in my book. Collapse
