La Traviata
April 17-April 20, 2008
Violetta leaves her life in Paris behind for an idyll in the country with her lover Alfredo. Like the camellia, the flower for which she is known, her dream is too fragile to survive. Sheri Greenawald, director of San Francisco Opera Center and famed 'Violetta,' will direct Verdi's masterpiece. Helpful Information: the performance is sung in Italian with English surtitles.

Support the AZ Opera Company! My husband and I enjoyed the AZ Opera production of Rigoletto on Thursday night. We were especially impressed by the Joll, Oropesa and Thomas. The costuming, staging and orchestra were also noteworthy. We love the MET, and are happy that the Land of AZ is showing signs of promise. I attended La Gioconda at the MET a few weeks ago ... I had forgotten how fantastic the acoustics are at the MET. Something is still missing at Phoenix Symphony Hall. All technical problems should have been resolved by now. Our local and guest artists deserve the best! ENJOY! Collapse
