    Deathtrap at Desert Stages Theater was AMAZING! I Played Myra in College years and years ago and I have to say Kudos to the woman who played her, I really enjoyed her take on the character, she was really Super, The third scene in Act One had such wonderful moments between her and Sydney. The rest of the cast was Excellent as well, everyone was perfectly cast in their roles. The gentleman playing Clifford scared me numerous times though out the performance, he has such a powerful presence and amazing instincts. I was a little worried about Sydney's look, but 30 seconds into the show those worries faded away, great facial expressions and reactions to discovering and going through Clifford's script. Helga was Hilarious, the last scene between her and Porter...I'm speechless. Last and certainly not least, although a bit younger than I was expecting, the gentleman playing Porter was wonderful, he came across very worldly on stage and was a real joy. The entire evening was a Joy. GREAT JOB! Collapse

    My friends and I had the pleasure of viewing Deathtrap on Saturday night. Once a month we get togther and do dinner and a show. The show had a few downfalls, but other than that the show was Superb. I sometimes had a problem understanding the woman who played the psychic Helga, it may have been due to the accent. Overall, the strongest actors were the young man playing Clifford and the gentleman playing Sidney the older man. The building of the suspense was amazing, I never expected what was coming next, which I enjoyed. I and my friends plan to see more shows at Desert Stages. Thanks to them for a wonderful evening.     I had never been to the intimate "Actor's Cafe" at Desert Stages, and although I enjoyed the evening, the actors were a little 'rough' around the edges. Definately community theater. The young male... Expand

    I had never been to the intimate "Actor's Cafe" at Desert Stages, and although I enjoyed the evening, the actors were a little 'rough' around the edges. Definately community theater. The young male lead didn't speak clearly and words were rushed and lost. The woman who played the psychic was hilarious, however. Collapse

    I came into town to visit my children who live in Scottsdale and we always take in a show. I attended Saturday nights performance of Desert Stages Actor's Cafe Performance of Deathtrap and I have to say, I couldn't keep my butt in my seat, with all the surprises. I saw the original Broadway production of Deathtrap with Victor Garber. The set was beautiful, the seating sublime, the actors were all on their best performances. The performances of Mrs. McBain and Mr. Harris were breathtaking. Reading through the program at intermission I realized Mr. Harris performed in Beauty and The Beast which I attended last year, I hardly could believe it was the same actor. I don't want to ruin the outcome of Deathtrap for others reading these reviews, but it was frighteningly wonderful. Collapse
