Add Review/CommentFeatured author, Robert Mason, will discuss three of his books including The Burning a fictionalized historical account, Verde Valley Lore, and More Verde Valley Lore. This novel tells the story of a pioneering family who lived one mile east of the Verdes in the 1870's. It is based on the actual family history of Annie and Patrick White, Irish potato famine refugees, Civil War volunteers, and Ft. McDowell residents before they had their home burned by McDowell soldiers. Their struggles give us a vivid insight into life in our immediate vicinity 130 years ago. Mason is a regular columnist for the Fountain Hills Times and writes for the Carefree Enterprise. His books will be available for sale in the museum's store. After his presentation, he will be glad to sign copies of his books.
