Darling summertime fun! FHCT manages to stage this huge musical in their small space with gusto. Acting is great particulary Mr. Applegate (who steals the show) and young Joe.

This was and outstanding show for Fountain Hills! The cast was tremendously talented, especially the young woman cast in the role of Peggy Sawyer. She certainly has the triple threat and has a very bright future. I was hoping to see her in more shows at this theater. The director did a wonderful job as well as playing the part of Julian Marsh. Set design, lighting, choreography and costume design was right on the money. Absolutely fabulous, and congratulations. Collapse

But the sets are great, and that helicopter was impressive. Sure missed the cadillac! Overall it was good just not outstanding. Collapse

I very much enjoyed seeing this show. The ensemble is most certainly NOT something to ignore (they were GREAT!!). The actors playing Chris and John were incredibly superb and their talent should not go unnoticed! I was blown away by The Engineer's and Thuy's performances; very impressive! Kim was good as well, but she is obviously young (her voice is a little underdeveloped) and it is unfortunate that her inexperience shows through her performance. Ellen is certainly experienced and has good characterization, but I found her difficult to listen to; her voice sounded unsupported and she dropped pitch sometimes. All in all, DON'T MISS THIS PRODUCTION! Observe the wonderful (sometimes "scandalous") costumes! Look for the clever way in which the stage is used and watch out for the helicopter! 42nd st is an old-fashioned flimsy plot musical that truly requires a large stage to capture all the grandeur. A valiant effort by the community troupe, but it falls short - largely because Kathi Osbourne who plays Dororthy is sleepwalking through the role - no enthusiasm whatsoever. There are some highlight perfromances such as Mallory who plays Peggy Sauders, but others fall short. On the whole another good try, but uneven effort from FHCT Collapse
