Following earlier successes, the Desert Caballeros Western Museum will continue with the last in its monthly Hassayampa Lecture Series highlighting the history of old Wickenburg and the surrounding area. Research historian Mona Lange McCroskey will present in words and slides the first hand account of a covered wagon trip to the Grand Canyon in 1898. This is the story written in the dairy of seventeen-year-old Zella Dysart as she traveled with her family on a seven-week adventure from Phoenix to northern Arizona and the Grand Canyon. Observing and writing with all the innocent wonder of a Victorian age youngster, her story gives a unique glimpse of Territorial Arizona at the turn of the century.
