Be a part of music history by attending this concert! The organ was built by the Midmer-Losh company of Merrick Long Island, New York in 1923 through 1925. The organ was designed by New Jersey Senator Emerson L. Richards. The organ was completed with a total of 125 ranks. After this project was finished, Senator Richards began to design and build the world's largest pipe organ for the Atlantic City Convention Hall. During the installation at the convention hall, a high school organ was used as a testing facility to try out new types of pipes and sounds along with studying the mixing ability's of the various ranks. In December of 1974, Adrian Phillips found out while visiting with his parents for the Christmas holiday's in New Jersey, that the Atlantic City High School organ was being removed from the school and being discarded. Mr. Phillips purchased the organ and so began his families labor of love. Over the next 6 years, the instrument was transported from the storage building located in Absecon, New Jersey to Phoenix, Arizona. In May 2004, the organ made it's first public debut to the American Guild of Organist's with 130 people in attendance. During the next 2 years, the organ was completed on the west end of the room and construction started in the chambers on the east end. The 4 chambers located on the east end were completed by the end of 2006. At the present time, final tonal work, voicing and regulation is ongoing to finish the project by the end of 2008. Come experience the magic of the organ at his special concert event. Additional Information: This event includes a wine and cheese reception.
